So I voted. Most years I submit an absentee ballot, but I can’t trust the Postal Service this year. So, I dropped off my ballot at a submission box instead.
If you don’t vote, don’t complain about the state of our politics. And don’t just vote during presidential elections—the government officials at state and local levels affect your life on a daily basis more than at the federal level.
I’ve voted every year since I was 18–only time I couldn’t was when I was 19, and I moved out of town and didn’t re-register in time to vote in my new district. When I was 18 I was still high school, and I got up extra early to drive to my local polling place to vote before school started.
So vote—and vote every year! Vote as if your rights and life are at stake!
